TAUPŌ ERUPTION
Museum Exhibition
About
This project is a permanent exhibition at Te Papa Tongarewa - Museum of New Zealand. It features the eruption of New Zealand's largest volcano and the formation of Lake Taupō. We worked closely with scientists to recreate one of the world's most volatile eruptions.
This experience offers a high-altitude perspective of the super eruption and the smaller eruptions surrounding it which dramatically changed the terrain of Taupō.
The Pyro FX in Houdini software was used in creating realistic pyroclastic flows and volcanic plumes.
